33l reef

Hi all,

I have been kicking around the idea of downsizing into a 33L.

So far I am thinking I am going to drill the bottom and install an overflow with 3/4" drain. I am also going to drill the back center for a closed loop. I figure I will run all of my plumbing over the back instead of drilling returns. I was going to run a large sump to bring my total water volume to aleast 60 gallons. I was thinking about running a mag3 from the sump and possibly a mag3 again on the CL I want about 15-20x flow for a stoney tank. I have heard that mags shouldn't be run external. is there a good external cl small pump? I heard the quiet ones aren't that quiet. I like the eheims but they are super pricey.

Do you have recommendations for flow on this tank? I was figuring 500 gph would be good. but could go more. I do have some lps that like lower flow.

thanks

tom
