Unfortunately when the new gallery was released there were lots of bugs. We waited at our site (we had planned on upgrading the same time RS did) for an additional week for the bug fixes to be integrated and the new version to be stable. I would recommend simply downloading a current version of the gallery software and upgrading again. We have not experienced any issues.
