I trusted you anyway but thanks for the verification. Apparently it is not that common since I could find very little info. It is a pretty cool but slow growing piece. At least in my system. Since I could find so very little information can you tell me if it is a leather or something else? I believe one of the few pieces of info I found said it was but I am just curious. Somehow I have accumulated a lot of leathers in my tank. I must like them. Well my favorite are lps but they are also the favorite of my chevron tang.

yep ..... it is a leather coral, the family is Alcyoniidae

as you can see, they are all different in the colour of the polyps, but the important difference to other leather corals is the markedness of the polyps.
