Nice active fish but Im afraid to put cardinal tetras in there.

I would donate them back to the lfs so I could get a lot of cardinal tetra, but the problem is I want some bigger fish that are colorful and the options seem few relative to salt waterfish.

I have a few rainbow fish and close up you see some nice colors but from far back they look bland.

Any suggestions?
