im not sure a diy extension would help much. in fact it may make it perform worse.. my idea was to make a square cup that would actually fit past the lips of the tank. my cup fits loosely what you want is the cup to sit completely flat on the opening of the box and SEAL it. i don't think its supposed to suction down on it. |
I am definitely not building a whole new cup for this skimmer 1. i do not have the skills to do something like that...2. how ridiculous! i bought this skimmer thinking it was a good buy for a nano cube, and it turns out you have to completely modify the WHOLE thing just to get it to fit and work?! crazy, and am not happy about it. Here i am cutting up a perfectly nice tank just so a nano skimmer can actually fit! gawd.. it really irks me... and 3. i already cut up my hood... so damn it, i am sticking with this stoopid collection cup.
lol.. seriously... not happy with this. what a PIA, a total mess.. but i need a skimmer.. NOW.... my tank i feel is flirting with a crash because i have waited so long to get this thing... as soon as my skimmer went out(the stock skimmer) i bought this Tunze).. now it is going to work..i will MAKE it work...
