First off cured PVC cement is just fine. As far as the flow for the 65 gallon, 800gph through the sump is a bit much. Your next post will be "how do I stop micro bubbles" unless you are running a HUGE sump. Stick to around 300gph through the sump. That means after figuring head pressure your pump wants to be 300gph.
