Silver arowanas are not on the CITIES list, and the one you most commonly see for sale. I don't know individual state legislation regarding the sale of arowanas. I just know they are legal to sell here in NC.
You will also occasionally see Jardinii arowanas for sale, some places will try and call these "asian" or golden arowanas although they are not.
S. formosus is one you will not find for sale in the states.
The silver arowanas at full size would be more at home in a tank somewhere around 500 gallons. Shallow, wide and long. |
