Try to get a pic of the snail. It could be just a harmless algae eating snail. Maybe a stomatella snail as seen here:


It has a fingernail shaped shell and two antennas that poke out of the front. They multiply readily in our reefs so you could have a range of sizes of them. The largest ones that I have in my reef are about 1/4-1/2".
