Re: Biocube Fuge

you've been given some GREAT advice but I want to add something.. the Fuge is not going to take away your Algae problem.. only help to cut it back some at best. What needs to happen is identify what's causing it and make those corrections. Then and ONLY then will your tank be all it can be.

Algae is cause by MANY different things such as:

Over Feeding
Feeding with product that has preservatives
Less than perfect supply water (tap water or a faulty RO/DI unit)
Slow-low water flow
Light issues (old, degraded bulbs, extended photo periods, natural sunlight saturating the tank etc)

Try addressing these topics and see if that doesn't help.

Good luck and HAPPY REEFING!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!
