Yikes! And to think that I was preparing the new reef so that I could take a couple of mini-vacations this summer... maybe that's not such a good idea.
Sorry to hear about the mishap.
If I were you, I'd take out the switch for the outlet. Tape may work in the short term, but there'll probably some other time that it gets flipped again (like when you're half-asleep in the dark).
As far as electrical goes, this is probably about as simple of a task you can do...
1. Find the breaker for that circuit, and turn off the circuit.
2. Remove the cover for the switch, and then the screws holding the switch to the wall.
3. remove the 2 black wires that connect to the switch by loosening the screws.
4. wrap the 2 ends of the wires together, and screw on a wire nut (probably a yellow one).
5. Put a 'blank' cover over the old switchbox.
6. Turn the breaker back on (I know the 'duh' factor is high on this one...

).
Voila... no more need to worry about the switch!

Plus, it's really easy to switch back out when (or if ) you ever move out.
