The steady stream out the waste tube is right.
You will produce more waste water than RO. It's part of the process.
What is the rating of your unit? Some are rated for greater output.
Mine was alot slower in the beginning. It seemed to have a break in period.
I forget now, but there was something in the instruction about letting it run for a while, like 30mins or more to help flush out any manufacturing contaminants.
