I'm consolidating all my threads. Now with pics for all the pests (and pets) I have from my liverock. None of which were added intentionally to the tank. All species centered in pic. Please help me identify them:
Anemone (type?) killed with syringe full of lemon juice to the heart
Red fury Jelly (?) about the size of a dime with single tenticle (white strand in pic) that extends and contracts from nothing to 15" during the night. Tenticle has digits off to one side about 3/4cm apart. Killed this one with lemon juice and by pulling the tenticle from the center with a syringe. I believe there is another one just like it still alive on another piece of rock.
Red crab with black/blue belly. Notice the white tips on his legs. Unknown variety. About the size of a quarter. Eyes stick out away from head (one can be seen just below the body in this pic). No hair that I could see. He is upside down in this pic under a piece of Pukani kind of twisting to look at us. Took this pic this morning. This is only the second time in 5 days that I have seen him.
Gorilla crab I'm fairly sure. Hairy, eyes sunken in head. Size of a golf ball. SOB eluded me today as I tried to prod him out of his cave (after noticing he was starting to pull it apart). He hasn't left his cave in 5 days but likes to stare at me and flip me off. In this pic he is staring to the left.
Hermit crab
White tube with red feathers that come out in light.
Additionally there are a number of amphipods but they don't take pictures well.
And here's a pic of all the liverock that hosted this diverse unexpected ecosystem.
Please help me identify any or all of the above with comments on whether they are good or bad to keep with fish and soft corals.
Thanks. Jeff
