The 55 gal tank is fishless. I do have a cleaner shrimp, snails and 2 crabs in it. I do have live rock, 2 cucumbers, 3 frags and a coral. When you say fallow , do you mean just fishless? And do I keep filters, jets and skimmer running? Do I do water changes and what else? I have been researching and info is very hard to find. I did read the post from Leebca, very good. We are so new to this that I do need help in what steps to take next besides leaving the tank fallow for 8 weeks. Like I said before, the tank is 5 weeks old, I know we made the mistake of moving fast. I did a 5 gal water change on 1/19 as directed by the guy we have bought everything from, including his saltwater, except the fish, added 4 gal salt, 2 RO. Then we put the fish in. Should my water be the same temp at tank water when I do a change? Water test have been stable but last test 1/21 was temp 79, ph 8, ammonia 0.25, Alk 2.8, Nitrite 0.01 and nitrate 10, this was after I removed the two fish with ick. Any help and help from anyone including leebca would be greatly helpful.
