My skimmer will be in my sump as well, with the fuge positioned higher, like yours is. Is your sump partitioned in any way... with a separate section for your skimmer, or is it just one big space?

Originally I was going to have my fuge in the stand upstairs but it seems that it will be easier to care for and watch if it's in the basement with the rest of the "equipment". I have a wall similar to yours and will be lining everything up... sump on the floor with the fuge tank on a stand right next to it.

I want to maximize pod production (I want that Mandarin one day), and I was thinking that the raw tank water may be beneficial for that, but I could be WAY off there!
