Dunno what kind of flow you have coming through your drain line, but I would consider placing elsewhere if you have high flow. I placed carbon in my filter socks before, even with the bag it turned a bunch of the carbon into dust and clogged my sock up pretty bad within the day (Yep the carbon was well rinsed).
If you don't have a ton of flow going into the sock then it may still be fine, but just something to consider.I usually just threw mine in a bag near the outlet of my skimmer. |
