Yeah my RO unit is plumbed directly into my COLD supply line. Unless Osam Bin Laden goes under my house, cuts the lines and re'solders them backwards it's impossible for hot (or even WARM right now) water to get to the RO/DI unit.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.
