The color of most of the acros should look very similar if not better under your lighting. The 400w halides are a good 2 feet off of the water surface. Water quality plays a big role in acro coloration. Set up a phosban reactor to keep your phosphates low.

Maybe that's why the beautiful yellow acro I bought a month ago now looks pumpkin orange. I suppose it is time to change my PhosZorb.
