| Re: We can't have nice things Unfortunately spamming is a HUGE industry. If you sit back and look at the shear number of people that can be spammed at any given moment and realize that can be done automatically and realize it only takes a very small percentage of users to "fall" for it to make it proffitable. Just think of it like this... if you write a spam bot to simply go and drop a link in a forum like ours for fake/generic "ED" medicine. Some guy is one here looking late at night about reefing and just happens to see the link and think "This might be for me!" He clicks and orders one order of this bogus medicine. It was done totally FREE to the company with no input from anyone but the customer.
Spamming is HUGE business and so is spyware and adware. We have college kids over seas making HUGE amounts of money to sit at home and write these programs. They get paid by "hits". Suppose they get paid $.01 per hit. They write a spambot that sends 50,000 people to a site a day just hap-hazzardly. That kind just made $500 for that day. Now the company is only betting on a 4-9% order ratio. Let's say an average order is $30. If we use 4% (very low indeed) that company is making roughly $60,000. Now you see where this is BIG business. It's sad but true.
