This gift brought me through many hours. You would not believe the time I would spend in front of it and still do. When Jack was alive I had my chair right next to the tank and many times with him by my side. After he died I moved the chair because it was too easy to reach out to him or say “honey, come watch.” I am glad that you are finding a greater appreciation for your loved ones through my experiences.

Thank you for sharing this experience.
Your welcome. Maybe that is why I am here, we are brought into each others lives for a reason, sometimes it isn’t clear, but there is always a reason, whether we see it or not. Anyway, always cherish the moments because you never know when you might be left wishing for one more day. I know my experiences beginning with the death of my first husband made me appreciate everyone who came into my life and so made my relationship with Jack wonderful and good because I had learned to enjoy and respect a relationship and never took it for granted because life can end in a split second. However, this way of thinking sometimes scares people away…oh well

Wow, didn’t mean to get so deep there…now how about we get walking again?

…..Bob, ScubaRW4 if you are out there we are going this way ---> ->

Here is another pic of tank, full tank shot. Can’t see too much, but there are things in there, promise. These pictures are a reminder to me of where I was physically as well as emotionally and it makes me appreciate where I am today. Such a difference. BIG, BIG difference.

Anyway the time passed and days of physical therapy continued, but I still didn’t buy too much. I mostly sat and stared at what I had. It was amazing to see all the things on the rock that I never knew existed. The tank was comforting to me and so full of life and continuously regenerating. Soon I began seeing little feathery things growing on one of the rocks so I rushed to the LFS to find out what it was. I was so excited that I had these feathery things and when I got there I was told, Get rid of it, it is bad, you have Aptasia. What a disappointment that was. So I go home with my new little peppermint shrimps and a syringe to suck off the Aptasia. That in itself was a challenge.. What a joke.. use syringe to suck off Aptasia…I had one good useable hand, the left one, hmmm I am right handed, and also had a frozen shoulder, the right one of course, well when there is a will there is a way. I was able to remove the rock but ended up in a fighting match with this critter for a long period of time, I finally got it off. I never got a picture of my shrimps nor my newly found Aptasia, but I figured that some where along the way I would get another opportunity.

Next thing I discovered was more feathery things coming out of little white tubes on the rocks. I wondered if I should get excited over these or was I going to be disappointed? Really didn’t want to go back to LFS to find out. I liked watching those little guys pop in and out of their tubes. Finally, I reluctantly went back and lo and behold I was allowed to keep these things. Great, because I liked them. They weren’t the greatest things I had ever seen, but they were alive and they were kind of cool.

Then during one of my gazing sessions I saw something in the sand , popping its little head up and wiggling around, if a shadow passed over, it would disappear. Never found out what that was and have not seen it in a very long time, but I called it my slug.

At about this time I believe my tank inhabitants consisted of 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 yellow tang, 1 blue tang, 2 green chromis, 1 bi-colored pseudochromis, 2 clowns, a green feather duster, purple duster, green long tentacle plate, red mushrooms, green mushrooms, button polyps, toadstool leather, lots of snails and blue legged hermits who by the way are all named after Harleys.
