I don't see why they can't add a shutoff valve. It works by using back pressure, whether with a tank or a float valve. My guess is that the person that replied to your e-mail didn't have a clue.
The shutoff will work just fine with the float valve. When I build my 75 gal, I will add a tee for the auto topoff and run it with the tank. |
