| Re: Recommended lighting. I have a beautiful tridacna under 150w MH in a 21" deep 75g. He's probably about 24" from the light in 16" of water. That's about maximum depth under this light to have a clam THRIVE IMO. Calcium is also very important for clams. Remember, clams require high intensity light as most live in shallows under full sun. A tank deeper than mine would need 250w MH or move the clam closer to the surface, but I think MH is necessary for them to thrive.
