Rule of thumb is crank it. Buy the best ballasts, reflectors and bulbs you can. Don't get less than 4 for any tank and 5 or six is probably better. If you have an extra deep tank like a 110 gallon, get 8. They commonly come in 2', 3', 4' and 5' lengths. You can get lots of par with the right set-up. You loose the shimmer and the heat of MH. |
