Have you got some empty shells lying around for the hermits so that when they grow they can go cruising through the real estate market and find a new condo or hut?

To lose one snail in 10 months is actually good as far as I am concerned, I lost more than that in a week. I just don't think the hermit beat up the snail. I am not saying that they don't or won't if a snail is lying upside down and unable to right itself, then I agree whole heartedly that it will, but then it is doing it's job.

I also wonder exactly what the hermits are doing when it appears that they are attacking or fighting each other. I have watched mine extensively and sometimes it looks like they are having a meeting of some sort, some will crawl off and some will stay and then they go tumbling around and crawling all over each other and then part ways. Very odd.
