If you really love the anemone, I suggest you read many resources before you buy one. Not just on-line, but if you can get a book (on-line or from the library) that will help.
Your tank shouldn't smell with the shrimp fully submerged. Was your LR (live rock) fully cured? Rotting sponges on LR DO smell bad. This isn't a problem right now because you don't have livestock. But pull each piece of LR out of your tank and smell it. If anything smells fishy (ha ha ha) then tank a soft toothbrush and a bucket of salt water and gently scrub off any dead things. Especially look for things that are mushy, slimy, and/or white. Put your rock back in the tank and keep checking it. You may have to scrub it a few times like this to get all of the dying matter off. |
