acclimation is VERY important for anems...i would suggest at least an hour time period, slowly adding your water to whatever bag you bring the anem home in. every 15 minutes add a cup of your water to the bag...after 15 minutes has elapsed, dump out a cup and add another cup of your water. this will ensure a slow change in salinity as well as temp.
