Stand and Canopy Trim

I'm in the process of designing a stand and canopy for a new 50g tank (36x18x19). I'm having a difficult time locating trim or moulding for both the stand and canopy. What I wanted was the trim on both pieces to be identical in profile but different widths. For instance, if the trim around the top and bottom of the stand was 3" wide, I would want a matching trim around the canopy to be 1.5" or 2" wide. I don't own a router so I can't custom make the trim. I've looked at Home Depot as well as my local lumber stores and there really isn't anything that matches what I want. As far as the trim around the top and bottom of the stand, I wanted that profile to be sqaure (flat) on the bottom because I want to put a piece of vertical fluted moulding at each edge. If you went to the following site, I'm trying to duplicate that stand.

Those of you who have built your own stands and canopy, can you offer any suggestions or share what you did. My aquarium will be in the family room, so it's got to look nice.

Thanks
