Was that spot an open wound or bare skeletal area at anytime? If so, it could also be cyano growing on it and standing up like that as it produces oxygen bubbles. You could try a very soft toothbrush, and VERY, VERY gently swipe that spot and see it it lifts off, very gentle swipes will not hurt the corals tissue as I have done this numerous times with damaged corals before. If it turns out to be a hard or semi-flexable protrusion, then its tweezers time...lol
