I tried an iodine dip with mine and it didn't work. Maybe the coral was too far gone already but I tried it. I thought it was coming back but it didn't I was reading that article and it says that it usually starts when a fish is nipping at the coral. This I can believe. The first time around I had a flameback angel that was later found to be nipping at corals and was then removed after killing them all.
This time the only coral affected was the one put near my chevron's favorite spot. I never saw him nipping but now believe that he was. The hammer on the opposite end of the tank still looks fabulous. The one near his home is now dead. Expensive lesson learned I guess.
