FrogSpawn Mold/Algae? I have had FrogSpawn in my tank since I could first put corals into it. I started with a 3 stalk branching one. It split into 2 heads per stalk so I fragged it a few months back into 3 individual stalks. About 2 weeks ago one of the stalks didn't open up at all and that seemed strange because they are almost always at least partially extended. The next morning when I left for work it had this brownish transparent "slime/mold/algae" in both heads. I took a turkey baster and blew off the delicate brown stuff. That evening the color was gone from all the "green areas" and the meaty section was seemingly dissolving. I removed it from the tank at that point.
All has been good until this morning. One of the other branches has a very similar "slime" look to it when I left for work. My wife said it didn't open at ALL yesterday.
Has anyone seen this on their FrogSpawn? Know what it is? Know of a way to treat it? It's strange how FAST it happens. I am worried because I don't want it to kill the 3rd stalk or my Torch or Hammer (which are in the same family).
Ideas?
I wish I had a pic but the camera was TOTALLY dead this morning. I might try again tonight.
