...would you consider doing something to the four posts so that they don't look like just plain 2x4's slapped on to the sides?...maybe grinding the profile to something thinner?
maybe like the edge of a flying saucer  and the tops coming up to a point that supports a lid thats lighted on the underside so that it apears to glow from within...oops sorry if I'm getting carried away
