| Re: DrHank's Tank's Thanks Rebekah. It took me about 2 months to make the stand and top. To say the least it was a project (the biggest I've ever tried). I'll try to get some closer shots. You'll probably like the seahorse cabinet handles too.
The finish is, one coat of wood conditioner, followed by two coats of Minwax Provincial stain, followed by 3 coats of Marine Spar Varnish. The inside was even worse to do. It was two coats of Kilz oil based stain killer and primer followed by two coats of white latex enamel.
A reef club local in my area is also a professional painter and she walked me through the process. I have to give her credit for the final finish. Thank goodness it's done. |
