Some of the comedically available discs have to be cured. There are fired ceramic and do not need cured. So when you buy them you do not have to wait a few weeks before you can us them. These are also very porous and get colonized with coraline algae very fast. These discs are much stronger than the aragocrete ones. For those who use egg crate both the discs and plugs have a post that will hold them in place. The post can be removed using some grinding bits for a dremel tool.
