The fat content in rosy reds/any feeder goldfish is much higher than that of any natural food that the lionfish would eat. This oftentimes is the attributed factor to what is called "Fatty Liver Disease". Fatty liver disease is not truly a disease, but merely a buildup of excess fat in the liver that causes liver failure and death. If you can get him to eat other things, I would try that, but if thats all he'll eat then eating something is better than nothing. I'll pull up an old article on it once I find it.
BTW, very nice tank so far. I just actually ordered my 65g tank/stand but won't be setting it up until mid-july. Keep up the pics as I'm going to be tankless for a couple months and need the inspiration.
