Topless is a prime candidate for "El Fisho El Flyo"

Even fish that aren't normally known to be "jumpers" can get spooked and fly out. I lost one last year (butterfly fish) and just thought it had been "consumed" by something else in the tank. I moved the stand about 6 months later and it had gotten out of the tank and wedged itself under the very tiny lip of the stand. If I had to bet before hand I would have bet GOOD $$ that it wouldn't even FIT under there... I had even been down on my hands and knees with a flahslight and still missed it. If you must go topless I would suggest some egg-crate to help keep em IN the tank.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.
