Should I begin running the powerheads? Or should I wait until the sand is settled and "weighed" down with bacteria?

I plugged in one the other day and it kicked up a little bit of a sand storm.

Also, the 45 lbs of Fiji is the uncured stuff. Will I need to perform more water changes during the cycle?

The LR was purchased from Premium Aquatics. It really didn't look like it had alot of dead stuff on it. An occasional smudge of what appeared to be leftover life here and there but that was it.
I dunked the pieces in RO water and rubbed my hand and fingers on it to remove anything that was noticable and then put it all in the tank.

I assume at the worst, my cycle may take a little longer?
