WHATEVER YOU DO, do NOT use black rubber heater hose. I killed off a whole tank with the stuff in a matter of about 2 hours! (the automotive type) I think it has something to do with the white powder on it. (looks like a mold release type agent). But something in it is highly toxic to fish.
