Re: Joe's 65 Gallon Aquatic World

sasquatch: I've definately learned the hard way that prebuilt canopies have their limitations. I think next time I'll just buy a few woodworking tools and have a try at building my own stand & canopy.

lcstorc: I think she said the lights look good. So, as long as the chihuahua is happy, I'm good to go!

Wooden Harpoon: It would have taken me longer, if not for some tax money coming back this year. Gotta love loaning Uncle Sam interest free money every year.

BrothaWolf: Fill up starts after I get home from work today. Guess that gives me a reason to try to get out a couple of hours early

Woodstock: I didn't like that little piece of clear hose in there anyway. (plus that long sweeping bend can contribute to a little head loss) A couple of days ago I was thinking of some ideas to get rid of it. So, I was trying to just use a fitting along with a threaded union to hook the pump up and I ended up binding some of my plumbing and screwed it up. So I just got rid of the hard plumbing all together. I capped off the hole on the side of the sump and used tubing on the return.. all the way up. So much easier; easier to take out if I need to clean it also. Only thing is, I couldn't find any black tubing, so I got the reinforced stuff, that has the white lines in it.. So, I know its not totally see-through, but its not black. I'll just have to keep an eye on it every once and a while and gauge how often I need to clean it.
