I added 10 lbs of
cured liverock with a good variety of corralines (pink, purple, red, plating) into a 48 gallon and i had no spike in ammonia, all my base rock has corraline growing only 2 months later. No supplementation of ca or alk.
you def don't need 10 lbs, but it helps with filtration too..
