Anyone ever heard of an Asterina starfish feeding on a clam? I was moving some rocks around and A starfish about the size of a dime fell off. It fell right into the middle of my crocea. The clam wouldnt open up so i couldnt get it out. He remained closed for a few days until one day he "burped" and some goo came out. He has been pinched in that area for about a month now. He slowly is opening up more and more only to reveal a hole the size of a pea in the center of him! Suprisingly he is still getting better and its slowly shrinking. The only thing I wonder is what happend to the starfish. I really hope it died and fell apart rather than cruising around the stomach of my clam. It was such a freak accident. The second pic is of my new clam guessing a crocea also but not positive. |
