This is because the bacteria that you want in your tank colonizes on all the surfaces. The ammount of bacteria that is actually living in the wter coloumn is very minimal whereas the protozoa it boasts removing has to go through a free swimming phase where it is suseptable to being filtered outof the tank. I do serriously doubt their claim that it will remove 100% of the freeswimming protozoa simply because it doesn't completely remove all the water from the tank and put it into another tank. the water goes back into the same infested water that was in there before so it can become reinfested. I'll agree that it'll remove 100% of the protozoa and particulates from the water that PASSES THROUGH the FILTER but NOT 100% of the protozoa and particulates IN THE TANK. I know this difference seems subtle but it's important to realise the difference.
