| Re: $6 wave maker!!!! As an electrician, my only recommendation would be to buy a 3-prong timer instead. Those little copper contacts that you're bending are not designed for the amount of cycling that is going to happen. They will deteriorate and heat up as slag builds up on the surfaces due to the tiny arc produced each time the contacts open. I'm glad to read that it's worked for 2 years, but I'd suggest opening it up again and taking a look at the contacts. It probably needs a little burnishing by now, and that can be done with a very fine rasp, if a burnisher isn't available. A 3-prong outlet would give you a little more ground protection and make this a lot safer. This looks like a great idea. I already have one of those timers for my lighting. I think I'll try it for a wavemaker too.
