You will need several replacement socks however, as they plug fairly quickly, and if not changed frequently, will become nitrate factories. IIRC, I had 6-7 spares for mine, so I didn't have to wash them every couple of days.
I took them outside, rinsed them well with the garden hose, then into the washing machine with just a bit of bleach, double rinsed them, then IF they needed it, (your nose will tell you) another rinse with a strong de-chlorinator solution, and out into the sun to dry...
With several spares, I'd soak them in a bucket of mild bleach & RO water until I was ready to wash them...about every 2-3 weeks...
