That sounds like it would do the trick. Instead of silicone, I would recommend using a 2" threaded bulkhead with a threaded PVC pipe connected to it. That way it will be solid. If you step or pull on the wires you won't have to worry about dislodging the silicone seal around the pipe. You might even be able to use two of them in your dry box for added space for wires.
