Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank

Thanks for the tip! The fish definitely dominate the tank space even if they aren't nibbling on it, they probably brush by it occassionally if nothing else. Do you think I am running the lights for the right amount of time?

I haven't noticed anyone picking at their heads at all, but the trumphet corals are picked right up and thrown out of the way. I've moved them (which are now several frags instead of a single piece) several times and now have them on the bottom wedged into some branch rock. They may be getting a bit too much flow and not enough light on them where they are, but will have to stay put because the fish are finally leaving them alone. The fish have all lived with my previous trumphets just fine, so I'm not sure what all the fuss has been about. There must be something really tasty on the new ones. My daughter may get most of the trumphets for her tank, in exchange from some of my pink zoos back.

I can't think of anything I can put over the sun polyps that the fish won't just grab and flip off of it. ... ... I have a critter container that I might see if he fits in and see what happens. This will also provide a bit more shade and slow the flow too. The container will look silly in the tank, but it is worth a shot.

PS - My snails are laying eggs. Couldn't figure out what it was at first, but each day there are more of them. It's nice to have some life back in the tank.
