Unless the sand bed in the fuge is deep (2"+), more flow is not necessary IMO. A deeper sandbed may require more oxygen flowing over it to keep it from getting black sulfur dead zones. Maybe someone else can chime in on it...

If you do add a PH, use a prefilter sponge so the pods do not get sucked into it.
