SJMRC will be mergering with NJ Reefers Club....
Here is my email I sent out to everyone...
Hello everyone!
I hope everyone has been enjoying their reefs since we last got together at ILC in November. As you recall, that was the meeting where SJMRC met a fellow reef club, NJRC and since then, I've been discussing a merger of the two clubs effective January 1, 2007. I think combining the two clubs together will be beneficial and more successful than SJMRC can ever be alone. The President of NJRC, Phyllis, along with the other board members of the club are extremely excited for the merger as well and she has agreed to extend all membership fees for SJMRC members until April 2007. In April 2007, memberships can be renewed through NJRC for $12.67 per person or a family membership for $18.85. All you need to do is head over to the NJRC website
www.njreefers.org and create a user ID on the forum and you will be directed to an area on the site that will explain the benefits of the club and a list of the meeting dates. If you are a member of both clubs already, you will get an additional 4 months past April.
The tentative plan for now is that a meeting will be held in this area every three months. I plan on hosting a meeting in May but more information will follow. I hope everyone is as excited about this change as I am. I know we will all be able to learn a lot from eachother. Have a happy holiday and a happy new year. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me or call me with suggestions or feedback about this.
Thanks again for all your support and interest in SJMRC. I am really happy we started SJMRC and I hope this merger launches lots of success and fun.
Happy Holidays,
Bill Reed
