if they lighter/white parts are near the base, that's not uncommon. it could be from shading, ie. that part of the coral is receiving less light.

if you look at the undersides of branches of established acro colonies, they are always lighter than the tops.

good score! that body type grows slow... it's not humilis, but something close, i think. so don't be discouraged if it takes a while to get new growth going.
