Wit, all I can tell you is this honestly, the heating element does kill off the coraline which makes it easier to remove. Is it easier to remove coraline from a glass tank with a razor? Couldn't honestly tell you, I have never come near any of my tanks with a razor

It is defiantly easier to kill the coraline before removal, with a razor or not.
