this year members of the Long island (NewYork)reefers collected lots of tropical species that are being swept up north by the summer currents..these included various species of butterflies, trigger fish and even lion fish !!
since these species are not endemic to our area, they are legal to collect.
maybe you should try snorkling in your area...you may be pleasently surprised at what makes its way to maryland.
