| Re: target alkalinity Mine usually stays around 9-12 dKH 3.20 meq/L-4.00meq/L. Mine did get up to to about 13.8 dKH or 4.91 meq/l because of the salt mix I was using. The advantage of keeping high alk is the ability for corals to calcify with higher than NSW levels of nitrate/phosphate but from what I understand the skeleton becomes brittle.
